St. Nicholas Day is kind of big deal here in Switzerland. This is the day that Santa would visit the houses and let the kids know how they have been doing all year, and what they could do to improve their behavior in time for Christmas.
There aren't presents left on this day, but kids put out their shoes and they are filled with candy, nuts and oranges.
